About The Bogue Sound Ledger

The Bogue Sound Ledger is an independent English-language magazine about the Bogue Sound country in Carteret County, North Carolina. It covers the water and the crossing between Morehead City and Atlantic Beach, island life on Bogue Banks, and the seafood kitchen of the sound.

The site is edited by The Bogue Sound Ledger editorial team. It publishes pages in four sections: Water, Crossing, Island Life, and The Kitchen. Articles describe places, boats, clubs, businesses, and public infrastructure in the third person. No organisation speaks through this site, and no business is presented as its owner or operator.

Texts are written from public sources. Each article names the sources used, such as public records, local news reports, harbour and ferry notices, or published guides. Where a detail cannot be confirmed from those sources, it is left out. The site does not publish invented people, addresses, phone numbers, registration numbers, or dates. It does not announce reopening dates, sell services, or take bookings.

Readers include visitors and families on the Crystal Coast, anglers and boaters, new residents of Carteret County, and people planning a trip to Bogue Banks. The pages are meant to be plain and concrete: where to launch a boat, how the crossing works, what island life looks like in ordinary weeks, and which seafood kitchens operate along the sound.
